High vibrations up to a frequency range of about 300 Hz with a constant load of 7G are usually encountered. <br>The special design of the switch allows for use in this environment without an assembly with vibration isolation.<br><br>This is achieved by a special construction of the enclosure of the pressure switch, e.g. bolted connections have been largely omitted.<br><br>The output is a special PNP-transistor for switching loads up to 7 A. In addition, the output can handle a peak current of up to 14 A. <br>These characteristics are necessary because during a switching operation different other consumers will be activated and for a period of up to 10s peak currents occur, that flow through the transistor. <br><br>Regarding the little installation space near engines and machines, high ambient temperature of up to 80°C as well as high heat generation during switching with high currents, the challange was to keep thermal load within reasonable limits without additional cooling elements.<br><br>Cost of development and construction of the pressure switch has been reduced to a minimum despite the high technical requirements.<br><br>Basis for cost-effective development were the long-time know-how in Pressure Measurement, the existing product base as well as the extensive network of partners, in particular in the field of electronics development.<br><br>In order to take into account different environmental conditions, the pressure switch has also been optimized to prevent damage from seawater, so for example enclosure parts are made of seawater resistant aluminum.<br><br>By customer request, the switch does not have a display or any operation keys.  Instead it is delivered completely factory-set in order to rule out any manipulation.<br>The switching states are visualized by two LEDs (red and green). This gas-probe is hard-piped and flange mounted onto a valve manifold.<br>The valve manifold itself is the borehole completion – it consists of two main slide valves, of which one is made out as an automatic safety slide valve.<br>In case of critical process pressure the safety slide valve securely closes the gas-probe - thus in normal operation the applied natural gas can be extracted safely from the borehole and fed in a pipeline. <br> As most of the boreholes are somewhere on the free field and have no electrical supply, pneumatically powered components are used since compressed air can be stored in pressure tanks easily.<br><br></p> <p><img style="float: left; margin-left: 5px; margin-right: 5px; border: 1px solid black;" src="http://www.pinter-gmbh.com/TL_FILES_URLfiles/docs/engineeringreports/0A1_Sicherheit_Erdgas/erdgasfoerderung2.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="146">The control is set up with two pneumatic safety pressure limiters, whereof one monitors the minimal and the other the maximal natural gas pressure.  <br>Also a pressure gauge is mounted for visualizing the actually applied natural gas pressure.<br>In general these three measuring instruments are flange mounted onto the process piping.<br>Furthermore a hand valve for manual operation. It is mounted in the control-air line and hard-piped with the two pressure limiters.<br><br><strong>An expensive and work-intensive design!</strong></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>PINTER has integrated all these and more features into a single safety control and measuring device:</strong></p> <p><img style="float: left; margin-left: 5px; margin-right: 5px; border: 1px solid black;" src="http://www.pinter-gmbh.com/TL_FILES_URLfiles/docs/engineeringreports/0A1_Sicherheit_Erdgas/erdgasfoerderung3.png" alt="" width="200" height="128">For example, an additional pressure switch to monitor the control air has been integrated.<br>In case of pressure drops or failures a battery-powered intrinsically safe (Ex i) minimum-alarm is triggered. <br>The actual control air pressure is also clearly readable from the integrated pressure gauge.<br>Obviously the control air monitor is designed to close the safety slide valve in case of an error.<br><br>Minimal and maximal switch points are freely adjustable from 0 to 160 bar. This wide adjustment range guarantees a stable natural gas supply.
